Beautiful Birdie Needs Your Support

Birdie came to us very sick and with terribly sore eyes. We actually thought she would lose one of them. But the wonderful doctor we have been working with at the Animal Eye Specialty Center in Andover, Minnesota, says otherwise. On Tuesday, March 23, Birdie will have surgery to remove scar tissue from both eyes. As you can see, her left one has a lot of scar tissue from the infection she had when she arrived. Her right one is not as severe. We are hopeful the surgery will restore sight in her left eye and make sight in the right eye better. As you can imagine, this is not an inexpensive surgery. She has been seen at the eye clinic 3 times already. The medication she was prescribed to take care of other issues before surgery was costly. Tuesday’s surgery will he just over $2000. Another office visit will be needed two weeks later. We don’t often put out a plea for donations but we certainly could use help at this time. Birdie is a beautiful kitty with a sweet spirit. Once she is healed from her surgery, she will be available for adoption.
